So..I've decided to embrace my inner OCD child and make some lists as to what I want to accomplish this summer...things I want to buy...
...I do this not because I wish to achieve a deeper level of personal enlightment and illumination (yeah, I've been reading Dan Brown again), rather, I do this because I'm bored out of my SKULL and I do not wish to stab my eye out with a fork.
General Activities:
1) Work 30-40 hours a week.
2) Learn to drive a stick (hopefully I shall begin tonight. mwahaha).
3) Read at least one book every two weeks. Currently I am reading both Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night.
4) CA/RI (god I hope I can do this..I really really freakin' hope...)
5) Woodberry. Always. Feeding the addiction rather than attempting to beat it into submission. *mutter* Need to call Erin again and re-schedule my lesson on Monday *grumble*
6) YCers/Yorkers in General...I want to make another excursion down to Inner Harbor...do everything we did last time (including the ridiculous boat thing) minus the Zoo ('cus that was just disappointing).
7) Hershey Park at least once, probably with le Famile.
8) Beach once or twice
9) NOVEL!!! Work on this is actually coming along at a slow but steady pace. Eventually I'll have to come up with a name for it, but I'm thinking that's a while down the road.
Things to Buy:
1) Laptop (Dell or Toshiba). The two I'm looking at are around $750. Not a bad price and I think I can convince le famile to just let me cover around $500. In reality, I think I'll feel a lot more relaxed once I have this thing purchased.
2) TV shows on DVD/DVDs:
Simpsons
Family Guy
Golden Girls
Sex and the City
Will and Grace
Fight Club extended addition (FX DVD on TV made me covet this)
3) Music (I <3 Target. Cheap CDs. Got the New Audioslave for appx. $10):
More Better Than Ezra
Pete Yorn
Franz Ferdinand
Green Day (a lot of it)
Jimmy Eat World
SAHARA soundtrack (mwahaha...magic carpet ride...)
4) Clothes. Always.
5) New riding boots. Since my feet stopped growing in 8th grade, I have DESTROYED 2 pairs of high quality riding boots in both field boots (up to the knee) and paddock boots (up to the ankle). I've decided I prefer Ariats to other brands but I can't decide if I prefer field or paddocks. We shall see. Regardless, these god forsaken boots are going to be expensive.
6) Comedy
Dane Cook
Lewis Black
Jimmy Fallon
Chris Rock
Movies to See:
1) Cinderella Man
2) Mr and Mrs Smith
3) Bewitched
4) War of the Worlds
5) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
6) The Wedding Crashers
7) Night Watch
Books to Read:
1) Atonement
2) Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
3) White Oleander
4) The new Millington when it comes out
5) Their Eyes Were Watching God
6) Some Gabriel Garcia Marquez

On the boots-- if you're still planning on joining the EU Eq. team, definitely get tall boots. Either field or dress boots, obviously they're accepted show attire for age 12+, but they're required for IHSA shows. But how the heck did you manage to destroy a pair of Ariats??? I love mine dearly but they're also going to last me a good 10 years.
PS on paddock boots: they're not destroyed until there are holes in them. Holes formed by the heels coming off don't count-- I reglue them :-D
'sex and the city?' you traitor. mail me: my address is in my LJ.
